PROBLEM:
The client made medical snaps and they had them plated at an outside supplier. The supplier would plate in a bulk process. and foreign objects such as little screws and washers from other jobs would end up in the snap order. Every time a foreign object jammed the assembly machine the entire order would be sent back without pay. It got costly.
SOLUTION:
Packard Automation created and built trommel tumbler sorter with two step sorting. We even created a magnetic final step that would magnetically remove little parts that might have made it through. The machine worked and everyone is happy.
